Some encouraging analysis from the pollster-analysts on the NewsHour on the federal anti-gay-marriage amendment. We seem to be witnessing one of those paradoxical political situations where the Republicans are playing the anti-gay card for political expediency yet don’t seem to be getting much traction for such an expedient move. Unlike 2004, now the move is being made from a position of weakness, not power, and that makes all the difference.
