I’d like to give notice of (and congratulate) a couple of college friends of mine, Wade Guyton and Kelley Walker, for their upcoming exhibition at Harvard’s Carpenter Center. When I asked, they didn’t tell me what exactly the installation would be, but I saw Wade’s work in the Whitney biennial a couple years back and really liked and enjoyed it: neo-conceptual would be the best way to describe it. The Carpenter Center exhibit opens this Thursday with a lecture/conversation and reception starting at 6PM. It’s free and open to the public. The installation runs through April 20.
And for you film nerds out there, next up in the Harvard VES lecture series is Laura Mulvey, whom I’ve not actually seen since her appearance in Riddles of the Sphinx. She’ll be talking about Abbas Kiarostami.
