Just a reminder that the next book club is in three four weeks, on Wednesday March 29 April 5. The selection this month is Peter Bearman’s Doormen, a sociological study of New York City doormen.
From the looks of it, it has a fun Irving Goffman feel to it, reading larger social relations in the particulars of daily interpersonal interaction. Univ. of Chicago Press has an excerpt available. Kieran Healy posted a good review at Crooked Timber.
We meet in Central Sq. Cambridge after work, usually on the last Wednesday of the month. Hope you can make it.
