Slouching Toward Toledo

(Headline stolen from Greater Boston’s John Carroll.)

It sounds like the Boston Redevelopment Authority is going ahead with its Walk of Fame idea. Can we possibly convince the Powers that Be that this is simply a ridiculous idea, a pathetic copycat move that will bring next to no net tourists into this town? I see Councilor John Tobin is quoted in the article; since he’s my councilor, I’ll be contacting him straightaway. I urge all concerned citizens to beg the City Council to stop this blight.

It’s a tough dilemma I’m in: on one hand, I know that if the BRA is abolished absolutely no new housing will be built in this city ever; on the other hand, it might keep the Mayberry Booster Clubbers from Planet Hollywoodizing the city.
