Much thanks to Diana at Causeway Film, who not only informs me that the world now has a blog devoted to Carrie Bradshaw’s questions (hello, Jennifer!), but also warns me of a possible film adaptation of Battle of Algiers, with Tom Cruise. As James Wolcott is wont to say, it’s futile asking if they have any sense of decency left because clearly they have none.

Oscar noms are the big news, of course, and I’m underwhelmed. I fear a Brokeback sweep, which while satisfying in the stick-it-to-the-fundies kind of way, would offer little other satisfaction. But the best nomination was buried deep in the secondary categories: Dolly Parton for Best Song. I wasn’t even aware she was on the Transamerica soundtrack. How brilliant!
