1. Tone down the snark and grumpiness. As JL of Modern Kicks has often noted, it is easy for bloggers to carp about things, but at a certain point, how interesting is that to read? Extending that spirit to commentary on politics and politicians and to our relation to the news media would do blogs a lot of good.
2. Put 5 more sites in my RSS subscription list a week. Link to and feature new sites I find regularly. The liberal blogosphere is notorious about not promoting smaller sites. It takes time to find new voices, but it’s worth the effort.
3. Learn something about political science. Read Walter Lippmann.
4. Attend at least one city council meeting and one MBTA public meeting.
5. See more new movies.
