Since I’ve read most of Paul Krugman’s non-academic writing (including his Peddling Prosperity, on the supply-siders), I shouldn’t be surprised. But I actually anticipated Krugman’s latest thesis in a post I wrote a year ago. It’s not the most original point, but the conclusion still holds: “without the model forged by the supply-siders - policy institutions making prestige claims in mimicry of bona fide academic institutitions - these specific instances of anti-scientific stances wouldn’t have coalesced into full-blooded challenges to proper science.”
