Local blogger Halley returns from the BlogHer convention and has a number of roundup posts, including this one on the differences between female-dominated and male-dominated conferences. I’m not sure I’d subscribe to a Carol Gilligan model of womenspace as always mutually supportive, but given the still marginalized place of women-authored blogs in online public discourse, it’s great that the BlogHer gathering did end up being a more supportive model of community than the boy-blogging can sometimes be.
Maybe I should take the opportunity for an open call for suggestions of what blogs I should be reading — regardless of gender of the author or the type of blog.
