HELPPPP!!!!
I’m a West Medfordian looking to organize support for the Green line extension here. This is a disturbing meme with legs, this "West Medford doesn’t want it" crap. The people who have expressed opposition are mostly elderly cranks, outnumbered by the number of residents who DO want the Greenline. But Medford is still pretty provincial small time-y in terms of government and connections.
It’s nice to realize that the Somerville vs. Medford battle that the reporters seem to be drawing is not exactly the reality. But as far as organizing those in support of extending the T in W. Medford, I’ll open the question to my readers and to any other pro-transit bloggers out there. Any thoughts? Street theatre? Perhaps a nifty new logo? Is it worth starting a website in absense of any organizing group? Is there an organizing group on this issue?
This seems to be one area where marginal political mobilization may make all the difference.
UPDATE: From the sounds of it, the West Medford T extension may be a done deal.
