Last night Greater Boston interviewed Gov. Romney, asking about the convention and his possible positioning for a Presidential run. What leapt out was one sentence he said - “American values have recently come under attack” from the Democrats - which simply had to be a reference to gay marriage. Emily Rooney said as much, while the Republican Congressman on with her tried to pretend it was about some vague generality of “recognizing our common values.” Nonsense. Why the bait and switch? Was Romney off-messsage?
Meanwhile, I see Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey is attacking John Kerry’s record when he was Lt. Gov. of the Commonwealth. That’s rich. An unaccomplished right-hand flak (her criminology “expertise” seems to mean simply forming panels to propose the death penalty instead of, you know, actually doing something about crime), she’s speaking at the Convention not because she’s done anything. She’s there simply because the Convention organizers think it’ll be embarrassing to John Kerry if people from his state talk about how the rest of the country doesn’t know the real John Kerry like a couple of one-term politicians from Massachusetts do.
When can we get these weasels out of office?
