The Herald picks up on the Oscar fashions this year to pronounce that curls are in, straight hair is out. The change can’t come soon enough in my book. By now the Ann Taylor-wearing, blonde-highlighted straight-haired clone look has had a stranglehold on every middle-management meat market (and the female half of the Apprentice contestants) that makes the urban gay clone seem downright heterogeneous in comparison. The problem, of course, is not straight hair per se, but the uses to which it’s been put, and a similar fate may befall curls. But before that happens, some variety will be a breath of fresh air.
