Via Matthew Yglesias comes another fun internet quiz: Yankee or Dixie. And despite being a Yankeefied Massachusetts liberal, I still showed tenacity in my Southern dialect and managed to pull score of 85 percent (Dixie).
The test by the way is based on a dialect survey done at Harvard, though the author of that study points out that the quiz (which does not purport to be more than entertainment) is not a proper use of the findings. The maps of that study are pretty fascinating in themselves.
