A couple of stories on the local/city page got my attention this morning. First, the MBTA is planning on banning electric and amplified busking on the T, complaining that the volume drowns out the public announcements. Are they kidding? I’ve yet to find a single T station where you can clearly hear and understand the words coming out of the PA system, even when there’s not a soul around. They sound like fast food drive-thru speakers submerged in water.
Second, the Enchanted Village will take place after all this year. Which is fine with me, but at least it’s not going to be a Government Center plaza eyesore once again. It seems the budget cuts have at least one salutory effect.
